Rules for a draw

Doesn't the exact position need to be repeated three times in the course of the entire game with the same player to move each time?

Must be missing something, but how was black able to claim the draw in this game?

After 30. ... d5, 32. ... Ra2 and after 34. ... Ra2 same position and always white to move, seems legit.

Yep, just go to the game, click on the three moves quoted by Callidous, and you get the visual proof.
