chess etiquette- rematches

If you are playing some friendly games on a real chess club, and you play a game with a stranger and you win the game, if the stranger asks for a rematch would you totally ignore his requests, get up and go to another table to play against another player without accepting the rematch and without saying a single word?
No, you wouldn't for several reasons. But in internet, do you think this is acceptable?

I can't think of really good reasons for this behavior. 1. You think the player you just won is unworthy/too weak to play against you.- You are arrogant. 2. You think this player was too close to beat you and you don't want to give him a chance to beat you. - Coward.
3. You just like to play a different opponent everytime, so you don't even ask for rematches yourself- which I respect, but would you just ignore a person asking for a rematch if you were in front of the person?
4. Your house is on fire, you need to save yourself. Now, this is a good reason I admit.

There's another type or rematches requests that I find amusing. The players that asks for rematches only if they won the game. They can win a good streak and after the first loss, they just leave. I would say coward again...

What do you think?

I think I've seen this topic hundreds of times. I think if people do not want a rematch, it's their choice. It's not a "friendly match" - it is people you never met in your life, and they sign up for a game and just that. Period. No blood contract or friends for life. Some people like matches, some other don't. I think you shoud stop giving so importance to an unknown opponent on the internet. There are literally thousands of other player. Get overy your frustrated ego, for your sake

/end rant
1. You don't have time to play another game
2. You don't enjoy playing the same players over and over
3. You have accepted rematches in the past and found your opponent suddenly plays like a GM after losing.
4. You like to take time to analyse your game after playing so you actually learn something.
5. You enjoy reading cry baby threads like this in the forums so decline every rematch request in the hope it spurns the creation of more.
Neverbeentimid. Really? Cry baby? This is a post about people that are rude on internet in a way that they would never be in real life. And you come up with that. It was about you I was talking about, right? On the internet you can be safe and say and do whatever you want right?

Kiseiju, the fact that you have seen this post before says that I'm not the only one thinking about this. Of course "get over your frustrated ego" is the only advice possible, what you have said is obvious, "some people like matches, others don't". And "some people are rude, others aren't" The whole discussion I wanted to start is about why a behavior that is not acceptable over the real board is so common on internet, people forget they are playing against a human being... Of course, if you win a game your opponent gets frustrated. Don't you? When you lose a game, do you ever ask for rematch?
You aren't entitled to anything. Its just a game. You are taking it way too seriously and personally for a hobby. Nobody owes you a rematch even in real life.
Yes SlickRick07, nobody owes nobody anything, even in real life. But people are polite in general in real life, even though there's no law forcing them to be.
Play with the machine.
It always accepts a rematch and is kind enough to wait for your first move as long as you want. And it always accepts takebacks.
So many people wearing the shoes...
So, you don't like rematches Fateswarning? I did not ask for advice, but thanks for it anyway, the machine is becoming more humanlike each day...
I think most people accept rematches when they enjoy the playing style or their opponents.

I dont see why winning or losing is relevant for a rematch.

Personally I prefer when I ask for a rematch if the other person leaves immediately because I find it an effective way to communicate.
I almost never accept a rematch. I usually only have time for one match. I never ask for a rematch.
