Match Yifan Hou vs Nigel Short last game confusion

There was some issues with the final game between the players and the TD. According to FIDE rules once a match has been decided if there are remaining games they cannot be rated. Yifan in particular was not aware of this rule and thought it should have been rated.

A few years ago there was a time control issue with Magnus where Magnus thought he was going to get added time after move 60 but in fact he was wrong and not going to get added time so he lost the game. I don't recall the tournament or game where that happened but it did.

Now to my point to stop this confusion. Before each game both players should sign some paperwork to agree on the game if it is rated/unrated, time controls, Tie breaks and so on. This would not apply for everyone just for the super tournaments and matches. I probably missed on some things that should also go into the agreement but its just an idea and I can't change this myself.

Its totally fair since it was in the rules that the Short game would be unrated. Some might say poor sportsmanship but its a rule. Rules are rules and nobody can change that except FIDE.

Just a random idea to clear up confusion since it is a little disappointing to see someone lose on time for not knowing the time controls or not getting rating points for a game being unrated (while not knowing the game was unrated in the first place).
