Anyone else dissapointed that Caruana isn't the WC challenger?

When it was Caruana and Karjakin leading the candidates, I wanted to see Caruana pull it out. He's seemed like a tougher opponent to Carlsen and like he's constantly in the discussion for #2 in the world. Now Karjakin's a solid 40 points lower rated than Caruana and Fabi's tearing up the Gashimov memorial and is back at #2 in the world... am I the only one who'd rather see Caruana vs Carlsen?

Caruana is younger than Karjakin. If he keeps himself stronger than his contemporaries (Giri, So, Ding et al), he'll be the challenger, eventually.

I was also disappointed that Caruana lost, but it seems to me that Karjakin v Carlsen is an interesting matchup.
