How do you list a player as "friend" ?

I cannot find the function to get a player into the friends list.

Can somebody help?

Friends list actually lists players you are following.

Go to someone's profile and click on the icon with the thumb there. Then you'll follow him, and he will appear on your "Online friends" list when he's online.

Hi, you can also simply do so by hovering your mouse over their username and then clicking on the thumb. I know this won't save you a lot of time but it also comes handy with the other functions such as "watch games" whenever a top player comes around. Welcome to the site, too.

Note, you can only follow them if they have allowed followers in their preferences. Otherwise you will not see that "thumb" icon on their profile/when you hover.

why do some players not have a "follow" option?

for example, i can't follow certain players.

You can disable other members from following you, it's an option in your profile.
