Should Lichess have a Donate Button?

My vote: Heck yeah - you guys should put one up!

It's great beyond words that what you do is for free, but you should have something for people to at least donate to show appreciation and help in some way for things like server upgrades, etc. Maybe a cool "supporter" trophy in profiles or something would be a way for you to thank those that do donate?

You could just have a plain and simple "donate" text link near the username or something so it doesn't mess with the awesome layout appeal.

My two cents anyway! Keep up the great work with the site!

Should put a nice succinct text link to the right or left of the username so people can find it easy.

There's a big button on the footer of the page.

I just donated, feels right as I have used this site for a long time. But is the ms/ping function gone now that the "Donate" button is there?

If you click on your name on the top right of the screen, you can see your ping.

I'm not sure if this lowered visibility is a good idea. Initial designs had the donate button appear underneath the ping.

If it could fit, I reckon it'd be better next to the TV link, to be honest.
