Why do people play games here with no increment?

For me, 5 minutes wo increment was always how I played blitz (long ago- on a physical board with wind up clocks).
Now I am old and most can flag me at blitz if they can make the game last 70 moves. But it forces me to try to process information faster so, hopefully, slows my decline in processing speed. Since I play for fun not money, that is enough. (It also motivates me to go for sharper games that dont last so long- and I find these fun and interesting.) Bill

Amazing logic. Who mentioned it was your problem for you to remark as you did?

I could go on about what I do but it might cause more illogical statements to occur.

Your first post suggests one party may take advantage of another's poor connection. If you think I'm taking advantage of somebody, then you think I'm somehow at fault, which means you think I should be doing something else, which means you think it is my problem.

What? Lichess doesn't do that!
Yes most people play without increments to timeout their opponents.
For Bullet, Blitz, and Rapid playing without an increment makes sense. What I don't get is why people who play Classical prefer no increment as evidenced by the ease with which you can get a 30 minute game but the 30 + 20 quick search usually takes longer than getting a 30 + 30 game in the lobby.
